Innovation and change are important elements for every teacher, but at the moment specifically for the ballet teacher who has to deal with a changing society and a field that requires new insights.
An important element within the training is therefore the connection with the professional field and new insights through (medical) research. A lot of knowledge is being developed about the mental skills and load of (young) dancers and the student will be challenged to develop their own insight and idea about this.
Moreover, it is important to place classical ballet education and its development within the current, changing social frameworks. What stories are told within ballet, by whom are they told and why are they told? How do we view our heritage now and how will we deal with it in the coming years?
These are all issues that the future teacher will have to ask himself during all parts of the training.
