Summary
The Dance Dialogues session aims to introduce students to dancers, performers, choreographers and makers and performing arts professionals operating in the field of dance and performance in the Netherlands, and to facilitate encounters between these professionals and students in the form of dialogues. Throughout the study year guests are invited to inform students on how they work, context of their own work, and their view on dance. The content of the dialogues can vary: from know-how, to artistic collaboration and status of dance as an artform in the economically shifting cultural landscape in the Netherlands. Diversity plays a role in the selection of the makers with a particular focus on dance style and genre.

Content and design of the class
A Dance Dialogue is a 2-hours session where students engage in a dialogue with particular choreographer and maker. At the end of each session students get 30 minutes to write a reflection. The reflection is an obligatory part of the course; students will need their notes in writing the course assignment. A question list will be provided by the teacher.

In year 1, we meet with dancers operating in the workfield in the Netherlands.
In year 2, we meet with choreographers operating in the workfield in the Netherlands.
In year 3, we meet with curators, festival directors, policy makers, and dancer/choreographers operating outside the dance infrastructure in the Netherlands.
