Summary
This course helps students develop an in-depth understanding of the professional work practice of a dancer from numerous perspectives (such as artistic motivation, ethics, training, income) and to prepare students for the requirements of being a professional dance artist. Stimulating encounters with professional dancers in the Netherlands, the course aims to orient students to the Dutch work field on the one hand, and to build networks on the other.

Content and design of the class
In this course, each student interviews one professional dancer of own choice and writes a reflection report based on the interview.

The course takes the form of group meetings in which students prepare for the interview via different topics. The last two sessions are reserved for sharing knowledge: students present to each other what they have learnt from their interviews and current vision on being a professional dance artist.
Students are asked to take on a proactive approach in group meetings.
