The Bachelor of Dance (BA), Teacher Classical Ballet is in line with the current Associate Degree Performing Classical Ballet Dancer of the NBA, or can be followed after a dance career in the context of “Life Long Learning”. Every student must have a preliminary training in classical technique, which means that the BA Dance, Teacher Classical Ballet can be achieved within a year.
The program has started in the 2022-23 school year and thus adds an important new opportunity for classically trained dancers and novice dance teachers to develop into classical ballet teachers, a specific position within the classical field of work that is in great need. In addition to the already existing and broad Dance in Education course, which focuses on several dance styles and the field of work within and outside schools, the BA of the NBA offers people who want to teach within the classical ballet academies, at a company or at a dance school where classical ballet is taught. They get the chance to study according to the NBA's new model. They therefore focus exclusively on teaching classical ballet technique.
