The study load of the program is approximately 40 hours per week on average; it consists of group lessons and self-study hours in which the student is expected to study independently. The Dutch National Ballet Academy tries to distribute the study load as evenly as possible over the academic year.
Instruction hours
In general, school days can start at 8:30 am and can end at 6:00 pm with regular breaks. Students are required to attend performances or participate in the organization of rehearsals and presentations in the evenings and/or weekends.
School days are devoted to theoretical subjects, self-study and other, non-regular, activities.
