Short summary of the content
The student builds on the classical ballet technique taught in the Preliminary Course. In BA1 the idiom becomes more extensive and complicated. The student learns to perfect and connect the idiom gained in the Preliminary Course.
The barre technique is worked on for half an hour every day, followed by perfecting the allegro and adagio work in the centre. Musicality, coordination, dance feeling, jumping power and turning techniques must all come together. The student becomes aware of his own body and skills and masters the classical technique to a level that enables corps de ballet and soloists work in the evening-filling classical ballets. The student is also able to understand how to use his classical technique to dance contemporary work and to work with choreographers.
Moreover, in BA2 and BA3 the student builds on to a personal understanding of his own body and technique and is able to carry out a whole lesson properly and to correct himself without too many corrections of the teacher. The boys emphasize on jumping power and turning techniques. Point work is important for the girls; they are able to do an entire lesson on point.
