The Modern Theatre Dance study programme trains contemporary dancers to develop a broad field of reference and how to combine physicality, creativity and theatrical presence. Because of their individuality and affinity with composition and improvisation, contemporary dancers are able to give an active and personal interpretation of their own dance role while also contributing to the creative process and the format of a performance.

Due to his/her versatility and flexibility, a contemporary dancer can function equally well in a dance ensemble or ad hoc dance project. He/she is acquainted with a wide variety of contemporary repertoire and is capable of conforming to the specific repertoire or physical vocabulary of a choreographer, dance theatre or experimental production. In addition, he/she is committed to the emancipation and development of contemporary dance.
