The subjects dance history / dance theory and music theory / rhythmic education are concluded with a thesis or project on a subject chosen by the student. In addition, the student must take a written exam to test his/her substantive knowledge. An exam in dance history / dance theory serves to establish a student's knowledge and understanding of dance history and contemporary dance culture. The written music theory / rhythmic education exam, assesses students’ theoretical knowledge and the application of rhythm in music and dance. The exam also tests a student’s comprehension of twentieth century music and music analysis. An oral exam evaluates a student’s knowledge of rhythmic notations. Besides the written exam, for the subject of music theory / rhythmic education students are also expected to give a presentation on a subject of their own choice. This gives them the opportunity to display their personal creativity and musicality.

A student’s knowledge of basic dance & well-being is evaluated in different ways. For the module anatomy & injury prevention, tests are held several times a year. It is concluded with a written test. Students must write a thesis and give a presentation for the reflection & in-depth analysis module.
