Study guide

2019-2020

Expanded Contemporary Dance is a student-centred education. This means that first and foremost students learn how to learn and become autonomous. Linear progress is not expected and one standard is not set for all, instead, students set personal goals and monitor their own progress in regard to their own starting point, on one hand, and their future goals and aspirations, on the other. In this process, they can count on steady support and caring guidance of coaches, mentors and the entire teaching staff, who help students recognise and develop their strengths, while noticing their weaknesses without being defined and pigeon-holed by them. In this non-linear learning path not every action will produce an immediate and measurable result, but over time students are both challenged, supported and given space to gain insight into their potential, to grow both physically and mentally and to develop their own distinct artistic profile.
