During the first year of the Bachelor of Arts Program the emphasis lies on developing the required dance qualities both technical and artistic. This initial phase follows up on all knowledge required during Lower School years and concentrates on expanding a student’s technique by developing strength and refinement and increasing his/her understanding of the ballet techniques. Attention will be devoted to physical fitness, muscular strength, flexibility, maximization of physical movement and endurance. If, at the end of the year, a student has gained the required 60 study credits and a positive integral evaluation, he/she will be awarded a propaedeutic diploma and may continue his/her studies.
