Summary
The aim of this workshop is to take the visual language of urban dance culture as a starting point to create a short (3 min.) video clip in which the relationship between screen, body and performance is central. In groups the students make a choreography and perform for the screen instead of the stage. They will learn how to make clear choices regarding both their conceptual and technical approach. They will learn how to design a process in which important technical aspects like framing, lighting, camera movement, sound and editing function in relation to the choreographic and visual idea.

Design of the class
The course will evolve in three phases:
Phase / week 1: Lessons and concept development.
Phase / week 2: Pre-production and shoot.
Phase / week 3: Montage editing and presentation of video clips.

All students will follow group lessons providing them with technical skills and insights into concept development. They will form small groups and each group will make their own video clip with the guidance from the teachers.
