Summary
A solo project in which students create original work built through an embodied dialogue with a chosen dance archive.

Design of the project
Starting from a historical archive of dance work (solos piece or a role in a group piece) students use available visual material (video, photography) and written records as a starting point. They create a personal interpretation through physical and compositional research resulting in an original solo piece. Student Is able to formulate an artistic research goal in written form supported by visuals, audio or other materials. Is able to build a physical practice in dialogue with a chosen dance archive Is able to understand a dance archive in its historical context Is able to connect historical knowledge with personal, embodied knowledge Is able to approach a dance archive through a lens of contemporary questions Is able to create an original, personal interpretation of source material Is able to use a variety of performative tools in their creation of the solo material Is able to structure the solo in a meaningful way, using embodied and theoretical knowledge Is able to use a range of expressive and performative tools and create a desired relation with their audience.
